World after COVID-19
"Life is JUST, Live it."

"Life is all about a cup of caffeine and a shot of wine
both at nine.
Get free from the word and the world of mine.
Dive in deep to
reach the divine."
(My life, my rules but only till I'm alive)
COVID-19 is not the first pandemic the world has encountered. Many grave pandemics came and were dealt with. Every problem has a solution and with so many recoveries with the disease, the hope survives and why not? Sooner or later, the cure for COVID-19 will be served to mankind. We all have our roles to be played.
But, this global pandemic is certainly different. First, for my generation, this is my first time.
The fresh morning breeze, the melodious chirping of a variety of birds, clear skies, counting of uncountable stars at night all got vanquished by the beguiling clamorous world. Today, the sky is cleaner and the grass is greener.
The world is getting freed from the pollution as a result of imposed lockdowns to contain the coronavirus. But the pollution that occupied human minds too is getting cleared.
Every small pleasure got concealed behind the dust, noise and materialistic mist. Though gradually, yet certainly, all these small yet real pleasures are unveiling themselves.
All of them are coming back setting the example of "Survival of the fittest." The jungle rule has taken up the job as nature was being taken for granted.
To me, the biggest blanket that I can see getting uncovered is of materialism. Suddenly, authentic jewellery, embellished clothes, social gatherings, vacations have come to an unexpected and indefinite stand-by. All that seemed glitter yesterday tastes bitter today and only with this can we have a better tomorrow.
Within minutes social distancing has taken place of the social gatherings. Social distancing will become synonymous with the way of living. Though it still is true for many countries worldwide; but for nations like India and people like Indians who have lived all their lives socially, this will not be warmly welcomed.
One of the major changes world is to see post-COVID-19 is a change in migration stats across the nations. And why just nations? Even within the nation, people are remigrating and coming back to their native places. In the words of one of the persons, I met across who was going back home around 1200 km from his workplace, "It's better to die beneath the roof my father built than be burnt on foreign land. If I happen to die at my place, there is a possibility my family members will look after the family I will be survived by (though the chances for this are also very rare). But, if I die here, my family will be treated as foreigners. Even if they are not taken care of at my native place, they will not be humiliated as foreigners. With the same mother tongue, at least they will have better chances of survival without me."
The world has seen a lot of migration. I grew up learning every fifth person in the world is a Chinese and every sixth person is an Indian. A simple statement was difficult to understand at that time, at least for an average kid like me. But, now when I see the world map and the occupancy of each place, surprisingly foreigners are more than the natives in many places. This change that existed and the mindset of earning more in other countries is definitely to bounce back. COVID-19 outbreak has taught that we can live with limited resources.
Most of the migrations have taken place to earn more. To pass forth the necessity and enhance luxury is what paved migration across thousands of miles. And with a global pandemic like this COVID-19, the world has started to realize that luxury is temporary. And necessity is what we need to survive.
Apart from luxury, in the race of showcasing ourselves as better than others to keep our heads up, we had not been chasing just the materialistic things, rather we have been living our lives brimming with materialism.
Not everything is permanent. The only constant is the Change.

COVID is like unCOVering IDentities.
Every day with a rising number of infected people, peeling of materialistic layers can be seen scraping down.

Professions and Positions are temporary Possessions.
What stays sublime in the conscious mind is the KNOWLEDGE gained,
And What submerges deep to touch the subconscious is the EXPERIENCE attained.

Only water can quench our thirst. But we wanted Coffee and cream atop; nuts to add the crunch alongside the brunch. We didn't mind cleaning and cooking and lived on what we can shop. We ate outsides, got domestic help while spending hours scraping the fat at gyms. Now, what? People are doing themselves what they thought the money they had can buy them all their life. But, now what? Money cannot buy a ticket off Coronavirus. Home is calling back, but returning today is expensive than what you earned all your life to be where you are today and from where you want to return to the past. You've money to buy your tickets, but no plane is flying. You have money to sail over, but you can't get past even the creek. What big grief? But you are alive, what a relief!
What I am trying to tell you is that COVID-19 outbreak for today's generation will define the gap between grief and relief. You can either grieve over your lost luxury or be relieved that you're still breathing and that too without a respirator.
God forbid, even if you contract COVID-19 and may need a mechanical ventilator life-support system, your bank balance, unlimited luxurious conveyances, embellished outfits will not decide you get a ventilator or not. Your health, your age, your immune system will have to fight against the will to live of the person lying next to you with no bank balance, no means of transport, not more than a couple of hospital clothes but with a better chance of survival than you.
What we need to survive, is the only we need in reality. It was only the mirage we have been chasing. But now we are moving towards the minimalist lifestyle. This will also help our atmosphere to revive as individual carbon footprint is reducing amidst the lockdown as a prevention of transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Had we embraced this minimalist lifestyle before COVID-19 outbreak, its imposition wouldn't be as unwelcome as it is.
We can survive in the least place with limited resources and happily if we spend time being ourselves and with our loved ones.
The sky is cleaner
The grass is greener
As we are battling to survive
Out atmosphere is approaching a revive.
